Pt. 6: ok so far we’ve establish that JK and Yeri are probably friends at this point. Just not very close friends that they have each other’s numbers because of JK’s behavior when Yeri accidentally bumped into him. I believe that during the Only Then incident did they become close friends and even exchanged numbers. For anyone not familiar with this incident, the song Only Then was released on 02/12/2017. It was successful upon release, topping several charts. It’s quite normal for people to make covers of songs they like. We see it a lot on many social platforms. It just so happens that both Yeri and JK liked the same some at the same time. It shouldn’t be surprising for anyone given the popularity of ONLY THEN in February. I have found a few posts claiming that RM had introduced the song to JK. I can can definitely see that happening. So let me paint a picture about how I think it all went down. JK and Yeri are friends at this point, not close but friendly towards each other like most new friendships start. JK learns of the song through RM and likes it so much that he sings a cover and posts a short clip on Twitter. Yeri has probably heard of this song already and had wanted to make a cover as well but didn’t right away because she is still hesitant after all the hate she got for wanting to make a tribute to Jonghyun. She sees JK’s post because it was probably circulating around different platforms already. Yeri sees her friend’s post and wants to also make one for IG. It may have also crossed her mind that since the song is a love song people won’t hate on her for covering it. She makes her cover and posts on IG not Twitter (from what I found it’s only on IG). Hate starts pouring in because people automatically think that JK and Yeri are dating. Most of the hate are from Armies (I’ve seen the comments and checked out the profiles to confirm) and just regular haters. Pt. 5: during the 2018 GDA RV performance, the camera briefly catches a glimpse of JK entirely focused on the performance and singing along (2). Recently JK claimed to like people watching so I feel that he might be watching Yeri during this performance. It’s hard to tell because the camera showed BTS for less than a second and from a distance. There is only 2 BTS reaction to RV vids that I have seen on YT and even those are short and 1 was mainly V. It’s really hard to tell but I’d like to think it was Yeri because he might be curious about how she is coping. Next we have the 2018 SMA group photo. So this event (IMO) we see a few of our favorite pairs, miraculously standing/sitting near one another. #Seulmin, #Vrene, and of course #Jungri (3). In this clip we see Yeri behind JK and she may have accidentally hit his back when everyone was crowding in for the photo. JK’s reaction was interesting because he was known for being extremely shy when GG’s appear suddenly from out of no where. There is a YT compilation vid that shows JK as an “international playboy” 😅😂 poor baby. In the vid he shies away from GG with a anxious look on his face. When Yeri bumped into him, he was shocked but he didn’t look tense compared to his encounters with other GG. Again this is probably because they are on friendly terms now. Even more interesting about this encounter is JK spacing out for a bit before looking at Yeri again. I think he wanted to see how close she was to him and to see that she is in a better mood now that he saw her bright smile returning. Next post we will be covering the ONLY THEN incident and how I think Jungri’s relationship progressed because of it.
