oh, sure! apparently this is quite a h~ot ship (i didnt knoww)

→ someone as socially awkward as makoto counts his lucky stars almost daily that he’s involved in such a cohesive unit like trickstar. with mao being one of the members, makoto is naturally willing to open up with him, and admires his brave and persevering spirit from the bottom of his heart, and aspires to one day be like him.

→ as for mao, while he might not be the closest to makoto in the unit, he can’t deny that makoto is someone pleasant to be around with. another thing he can’t deny is how attractive makoto is - both with and without glasses. spacing out at makoto’s face isn’t exactly the way to go in becoming good friends.

→ either way, mao and makoto actually click very well with their mutual interest in sports and studying. as they end up relying more and more on each other, sparks start to fly, and makoto begins to feel that there is something more than admiration for mao. he writes a confession letter, too chicken to actually carry it out, and beside himself with happiness when mao tells him he feels the same.

→ a relationship between them will definitely stir up a storm in knights. izumi and ritsu will be in a deadlock with jealousy, intimidating either mao or makoto respectively with the deadliest of glares. it’s a rocky start, but they will not be fazed, instead confronting their respective ‘admirers’ with each other to get it straight that they like each other, and would be happy if izumi and ritsu could support their relationship.

→ PDA is exceptionally awkward for mao and makoto, especially with subaru consistently egging them on to make out in unit sessions even though they would never do so! instead, mao would leave soft kisses on makoto’s cheeks to encourage him, and makoto would rest his weight on mao as they stand beside each other; subtly in love.

→ whenever trickstar has a live or an off-campus activity, mao and makoto would dawdle, wishing to go home together without others. as they board the train heading home, they take some time to nap on each other, fingers laced. the drive to be busy runs in their veins, so it’s these rare occasions where they can rest with each other, as each other.
