at the moment i’m pretty sure greens hold majority in the senate, however that may change after the next election
*fiNGERS CROSSED*
makomory replied to your post: with kevin rudd’s whole marriage equality thing...
all members of the liberal party had to vote in party lines when that vote took place. it won’t be the same when the bill is presented to the lower house so there is a greater chance of it passing to the senate
AW SHIT YEAH
dunno what the senate is like though?

4: Talk about the thing you regret most so far. - Oh, God, this is going to sound so cliche, but I didn't tell the boy I loved that I loved him. Still wished I'd been braver, because even if he'd said no, at least I'd have known. At least I'd have tried.
6: Talk about the worst birthday you've had. - Hmmm. Probably when I turned 15, because it was one month after my grandmother died. We weren't in a very happy mood at the time - everything was still so raw and painful and terribly aching, and I'd never seen my mohers or aunts or grandfather as sad as I did that whole year after she passed. Everything was a muted sort of dull gray for a while there.
7: Talk about your biggest insecurity. - That I will disappoint my family; that I will not be enough; that someday, somehow they will stop loving me. This really makes no sense at all, because of all the things in the world that could possibly happen, my family not loving me is definitely in the top ten, but all the same I feel this way sometimes.
8: Talk about the thing you are most proud of. - I am a damn good sister. My brother knows that he's my best friend, my sister knows that I think she is brave and smart and beautiful and good, my baby brother knows that one thing that will never, ever change and will always, always be true is that I love him. I'm very proud of that. (And people tell me I would make a great mom and I am on clooud nine for the rest of the day. :D)
29: Talk about what turns you on. - Oh my God. Um. Well. Hands. I really, really have a thing for hands. And scruff. And deep voices. And brown eyes. And darker skin. And people my height or taller. And if they can quote literature from memory I will quite possibly quietly asphyxiate where I stand. Oh, and a really, really good laugh, one where they're not at all concerned about being too loud or drawing attention but are just caught up in joy. I like that. And people who can sing or dance or something musically related - hnnnnnnnnggghhhh.
30: Talk about what turns you off. - Cruelty. Insisting you are smarter than me. Being patronizing. Not liking my friends or family. Cruelty. Hairstyles that do not flatter you. Telling me it's none of my business. Not liking cats. Cruelty. Really thin lips (I'm sorry, I know this is shallow). Not being willing to admit you're wrong. Not looking me in the eye when I talk to you. Not respecting your elders. Not respecting my religious beliefs or cultural traditions. Cruelty.
38: Talk about songs that remind you of certain people. - Long Live by Taylor Swift reminds me of all my friends. Leave Out All the Rest by Linkin Park reminds me of my brother. You'll Be in My Heart from the Tarzan soundtrack reminds me of my father. You Are My Sunshine reminds me of my little sister. Just Keep Swimming from Finding Nemo reminds me of my baby brother. I Would Give My Life for You from Miss Saigon (sung by Lea Salonga) reminds me of my mother. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol reminds me of that one boy who will not be named.
