Her Happy Day!
We came late! And I think it is my fault since I bought bus ticket to Penang at very last minute. But then all praise to God since we managed to lend our hands on the night before the wedding day! Well, we helped less compared to the mothers. Hee…~
It was very busy night. Everyone is busy; cooking, washing, eating, cleaning, wrapping goodies etc. My sisters and I making our hands busy wrapping the goodies. We put three items in every single packet of goodies; Bahulu, Kuih Kapit and Kuih Karas. We also packed some special goodies to the brides’ friend in different colour of boxes. Inside there contain two small polka dots cakes plus salted duck egg. The interesting part is that we were able to sleep at 3am and have to wake up at 6am! We were so sleepy, eyes were barely open, hands occupied with cookies and mini bags. My granny almost reaches 70’s but she still strong like a young person. I wonder if I am being old later, am I still can stay up till that time? All and all, it was great being together with them. Thank God for choosing me to be part of this happy family! :D
Anyways, it was delightful traditional wedding day. I called it ‘traditional’ since there’s no catering food, 100% DIY dishes. I got the chance to decorate bride’s dishes as well, together with my aunts and sisters.
I think pictures speak more. Luckily I managed to snap some pictures to be kept as memories.
Beautifully decorated of Bunga Telur. Bunga Telur comes Malay traditional customs which symbolizes fertility towards the couples. It is not compulsory to have Bunga Telur in every wedding ceremony but would great if have. The eggs in Bunga Telur can be either chicken egg or duck egg, depends on the creativity.
Bunga Telur
I love the flowers!
Hantaran for the groom. We will exchange this hantaran or presents with the bride as they enter the house. Most of the hantaran including perfumes, Quran, shoes, cakes and fruits.
Flowers a re everywhere! :D
I really like this flowery light.
Beautifully decorated pelamin or wedding dais for the bride and groom. They need to sit together on this couch and people will come and wish them happiness. Actually they are more Malay customs like sprinkling yellow rice and scented water by the family members, relatives and guests as a sign of blessings. For us, is enough with this bridal couch so that the guests can take picture with them.
Soon.. :D
My sister, Natasha.
Errr!
My hyper-active cousin, Alif Hakimi.
Finally, just married! :D
May Allah bless my cousin, Halimah and her husband, Kabir. May your love keep on blossom regardless of anything happen. Barakallahufikum!
