Issuance Of Commemorative Coins in Conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Masjid Negara

The Set of 2 (pictured here) consists of the coloured silver and Nordic gold proof coins.

Bank Negara Malaysia has issued commemorative coins in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Masjid Negara, which was officially opened on 27 August 1965. The opening ceremony was graced by the third Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Almarhum Tuanku Syed Putra ibni Almarhum Syed Hassan Jamalullail.

The design descriptive of the commemorative coins is as follows:

1. Obverse Side of the Coin

The centre of the coin shows the overall view of Masjid Negara. The words “JUBLI EMAS MASJID NEGARA” are on the upper circumference of the coin while “MASJID NEGARA” words in Jawi script are on the upper right side of the coin. The years 1965 – 2015 denoting 50 years of anniversary are inscribed on the lower circumference of the coin with the landscape of Masjid Negara.

2. Reverse Side of the Coin

The words “BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA” as the issuing authority of the commemorative coin is featured on the upper circumference of the coin, while the face value of the coin is inscribed on the lower circumference. In between, the event logo in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary of Masjid Negara is featured on the coin.

There's a five cent coin lying on the floor just inches away from my front door grill, literally inches outside of my aprtment's perimeter. It's been there for 2 days. I have strong urges to take it into posession because it looks like one of those coin with strike error (at first glance); google "5 sen Malaysia Coin the Oriental Pearl Tower" Question 1: what is the view of Syariah Law (شريعة) concerning posession of such item as in the above scenario? Bank Negara Malaysia has issued commemorative coins in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary of Taman Negara, Malaysia’s premier national park In this picture is the Coloured Silver Commemorative Coin (proof) made of fine silver with 99.9 purity and weighs 31.10 grams. It has a face value of RM10. The mintage quantity is 2,000 pieces. Obverse Side of the Coin The centre of the coin shows the Pantera Tigris Jacksoni, a species of tiger that can be found only in Taman Negara. Banjaran Tahan and Keruing Neram trees which are located along the Tahan river are depicted in the background. Lavistonia Tahanensis, a type of palm that can be found only in Banjaran Tahan area is featured on the lower right side of the coin. The words “SAMBUTAN 75 TAHUN TAMAN NEGARA” are on the upper circumference and the years 1939 – 2014 denoting 75 years of anniversary are inscribed on the lower circumference of the coin. Reverse Side of the Coin The centre of the coin features the map of Semenanjung Malaysia, with thicker border around the three states, i.e. Pahang, Kelantan, and Terengganu where Taman Negara is located. The shaded area shows the exact location of Taman Negara.
