Happy Trans Visibility Day!

Malcolm Albright. My first ever trans character that I wrote and boy was I nervous. Not just because I wanted to do it right, but because I didn't know the backlash I would receive. It was something I debated about for weeks, trying to figure out how to put it out there in the story without treating it like it was something these characters were going to whisper about behind his back. It was an exercise in writing and in my own relationship with trans literature. I have never been more happy that Malcolm is the way he is. This character alone has taught me so much about my writing and the way I see the world. I've had such wonderful conversations within the trans community because of this character and have made such good friends.

Thank you for all of you who are just out there being you every day. I see you and support you.
