Emir didn't care that much for events like this, but as Serra as family, his attendance was both expected and required. Keeping their head up high after the shame they'd experienced was important. With Agatha on his arm the night seemed significantly more bearable. They were about to go in when he spotted Malcolm Parkinson standing outside, seemingly unsure if he should actually go in. Excusing himself from his fiancé with a kiss on her cheek he went over to the other man. Parkinson used to date the birthday girl, so Emir was surprised to see him here, but as he was a good friend of Agatha's and she did comment on him making an effort to be more engaged with people, he made a conscious effort to go over and check in with the younger man. "Parkinson. Surprised to see you here tonight. How have you been?"
