For the @malecdiscordserver's 2025 Mini Bang, I had the honour to create a banner and two moodboards for this incredible story, I See Thy Soul, written by the amazing @nurisiliel.
Their work is just incredible, a story of destiny but also of how you have to put trust into it for making it work. Please, have a go with it and show them all the love they deserve.

Alec watches in wonder as the creature’s body continues to radiate purple glow across his body and lick at the wounds on his arms. It’s painful, the creature’s tongue is rough like a cat’s but the wounds are closing.
“Thank you,” he whispers as tension leaves his body and exhaustion creeps in. “I don’t know why you’re helping me but thank you.”
He hears the creature give out another chirp that sounds like you’re welcome. Alec tries to stay awake, but with the vibrations on his chest and the sensation of warm magic around him, he succumbs to darkness.
A drabble (not really a drabble) for Alec's birthday!
"I still can't believe Magnus convinced you to take the whole weekend off!" Izzy exclaimed happily on the other side of the screen. "You rarely take the day of your birthday off, let alone three days."
Alec rolled his eyes fondly, not being successful in hiding his blush. Magnus pecked his cheek sweetly.
The couple decided to make the most of the fact that this year Alec's birthday would be on a saturday, so they traveled for the weekend.
At that moment, they were sitting on the bed of the cozy place they rented at the charming town of Berden, in front of a laptop where they made a video call so Alec could see his siblings and his mom.
"Well, someone has to learn that he deserves nice things on his birthday. And in general." Magnus said, giving Alec the most love-dovey look ever.
"You guys are so disgustingly sweet." Jace complained, half-heartedly only.
"You're just jealous you're not being spoiled like I am." Alec fired back, a small smug smile on his face, vaguely gestured to the room around him.
Isabelle chuckled.
"You do realize how sentences like that make you sound like such a sugar baby, right?" She asked, and Alec felt like his cheeks were on fire.
"Izzy!" He scolded. Everyone else, though, seemed to think that was the funniest thing that had ever happened to them.
"Alright, sorry, sorry." She held her hands up. "Anyway, we don't wanna disturb you from your super romantic birthday getaway."
"You're not disturbing us at all." Magnus promised, even though the call had started half an hour ago. He knew how important Alec's family was to him.
"You're sweet, but I think we should leave you two alone." Maryse added. "Robert and Max are probably going to call soon anyway. We don't want to steal all alone time you two have."
Alec opened his mouth to argue, but then realized it was probably true. And he did want to spend some good hours cuddling up with Magnus on that big, cozy bed.
"Alright, brother, we'll see you at monday." Izzy reminded him. "I already miss you both."
"Oh, me and Iz have a joined gift to give you once you're back." Jace announced cheerfully.
"May the angel have mercy..." Alec muttered under his breath. Nothing that Izzy and Jace did together without Alec to supervise could be anything but a disaster.
"Anyway." Magnus said, trying not to chuckle at his lover's words. "We miss all of you too, but we'll be back soon."
They said their goodbyes and Alec couldn't help but smile fondly at his siblings blowing kisses and yelling 'happy birthday's over each other as he tried to end the call.
It was weird not spending his birthday with them, but he really liked how things were this year. Besides, most of his birthdays he also had to find demons, so this was definitely an upgrade.
"So... your siblings are not the only ones waiting to give you a special gift." Magnus said, and Alec arched an eyebrow.
"Really? I thought the trip was my present?" He asked. It wasn't as dramatically glamorous as he's sure Magnus would have prefered, but it couldn't be all that cheap as well.
"Oh, please. You know that's half for me as well." Magnus reminded him. "I love the idea of showing you the world."
Alec smiled sweetly at that, and Magnus got up to get the small package from underneath the bed.
It was simple, a brown box with a small red bow on top. Alec eyed it a bit suspiciously; he truly had no idea what it could be.
He knew he wasn't the easiest person to buy a present to, since he liked to keep it simple in most aspects of his life. He took the box in his hand, and opened it slowly.
It was a watch.
Black, leather stripes, somewhat expensive looking but not enough to freak Alec out. Beautiful.
He took it in his hands and melted inside once he saw what was engraved in it. 'Aku Cinta Kamu', which by now, Alec knew meant 'I love you' in indonesian.
"It's beautiful, Mags." He said. "Thank you, for everything."
"You're welcome, darling. I'm... I have always been the type to give jewelry for people I love. I like to see them wearing it, I like how timeless it is. I like how it just... means something." He explained. "But I knew you wouldn't want a diamond ring or a sparkling necklace."
"I would wear it, you know?" Alec didn't miss a beat. "I would wear anything you gave me, especially with all this meaning behind it."
"I know, darling. But you wouldn't have liked it." His tone was as soft as his eyes. "Plus, the watch suits you a lot more."
It really did. But honestly, what it looked like wasn't even a fraction as important as what was written in it.
Alec put it on immediately. He liked the idea of walking around with Magnus' sweet love confession pressed against his skin. Call him a hopeless romantic all you want.
"Is... is it in your handwriting?" Alec asked, suddenly acknowledging the similarity.
Magnus nodded.
"Well, or at least a super realistic copy? I'm not sure how the process works, but I did gave them a sample of my writing." He explained. Alec might be getting a little tear-eyed.
"That's so thoughtful... thank you, Mags. I don't even even know what to say..." He told him. "Wait, how can I say I love you too in Indonesian?"
Magnus chuckled. His lover was such a sap, it was painfully endearing.
"It's aku cinta kamu juga." He answered.
"Uh...Aku cinta kamu juga." Alec tried to say. Key word being tried. "God, I'm sorry. I think I didn't pronounce a single one of these words right."
Magnus let out a full body laugh at that. At least Alec was trying, and he was goddamn adorable while he did so.
"Come here, you big sap." He said once he recovered, and gave his lover a sweet peck on the lips. "Selamat ulang tahun, sayang. That's happy birthday, darling."
Alec kissed him again, deeper this time. Happy birthday indeed...
