"I major in packaging systems and design,' is what I tell people when they asked me what do you major in. I usually laugh at their responses since my major isn't something a lot of people know about. 'Woah,' 'You major in boxes?,' 'That's a major here?' is usual what I hear. I never get offended since that's how I responded when I first heard about it. Honestly I couldn't be happier in this major. This major has given me the opportunity to be as creative as I can be and love what I do. My dream is to be in the research field where I can find alternatives to packaging material and design packages so that I can reduce the amount of landfills we have in the world.”

“The word ‘good’ is so vague, but it’s the response we usually give when we’re asked, ‘How are you doing?’ I’ve been working on finding a way to give and receive a response that truly reflects how we are doing. I have started asking people to tell me how they’re doing on a scale of one through five: five being the best. This has prompted detailed responses and richer conversations that have helped me figure out how I can help someone feel better. We are all busy and tired and stressed and anxious, so let’s take this small step to get to know how someone is really doing. Let’s care deeper.”
