Announcement:

I am temporarily moving to a side blog. A week or so after we lost Malik, my father in law’s cat Pough also passed away. My username came from something I said offhandedly to both of those cats ten years ago when I was leaving the house (while we were all living together) and while it will eventually be a loving tribute to both of them, I currently can’t open my blog or see my username without crying, hence the (temporary) move.

Farewell to Cats

My sweet sweet handsome cat, Malik passed away a few weeks ago. He was both my Cat and my best friend and I cannot express how much he meant to me, how devastated I am that he gone, how much I’ll miss him, and what a special cat he really was. Love you forever, buddy.

It’s our first winter in our new house and Malik has discovered that between the steam from the shower and the heat vent, the bathroom makes a wonderful cat sauna. He just hangs out in there most mornings now, lying right on top of the heating vent.
