Ship that you find cute but don’t ship: Deja and Malik? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Deja, Malik is a great guy, I like that he is honest about having a daughter, I love that he isn’t ashamed of it, but everything about This Is Us is about THE PEARSONS. So while I don’t know what’s his importance to the entire family and legacy to the future generations, I can’t be completely invested in his or their story (same goes to Cassidy, but I like Malik way better). I’m also not a fan of couples that get together as quickly and as easily as most of TIU’s couples, so I just need to see more development there in order to get onboard with it. And I WANT to ship it, I just need a little bit more of substance.

so we’re all just going to ignore the fact that malik has a CHILD! a fresh baby meaning the child’s mother JUST left. but more than that, deja is FOURTEEN! she doesn’t need to be doing any of this. i don’t care how “romantic” that boy is or where he took her, HEELLLL NAAAWWWLLL! she can go see philly with her sisters on the goddamn weekend. she met this boy 5 seconds ago. if beth and randall don’t lock her up in a damn tower where his lil short ass can’t reach her. i swear
