Maybe it’s just me looking too much into things, but the song playing during the Wayhaught love scene (yes that one) hits a bit different now that we know what Nicole had looming over her head. Specifically:

“Even when she’s with me, we’re not alone. Her hands are your hands wrapped around my throat.”

Like even though she has Waverly and the rest of her family back, everything isn’t okay. In the back of her mind is Mam and the deal she struck to get her lover home. Nicole knows that she made a deal with a demon, but when you spiral to a dark place, desperation can make you do...anything to get out of it.

And now Nicole can practically feel Mam’s claws digging in.
