atobe: 2 years ago, choutarou was captured en route to the clinic he worked at from the main house. hyoutei received a ransom letter with a lock of his hair, for 5 billion USD in exchange for his life. it also included that every 6 hours, they would send one of his fingers to our doorstep.
i knew that they were a young yakuza family, and inexperienced in our ways, so i thought it was a ridiculous threat unworthy of my personal attention. i showed the letter to shishido. i had faith he would have wanted to resolve the issue on his own, as well.
taki: oh. that time? i remembered that i was preparing lunch when the letter came. atobe called us all into the tatami room and showed it to us. i was still holding a kitchen knife and ready to kill.
yuushi: shishido told none of us to interfere. taki, who was almost foaming at the mouth with enthusiastic fury, was held back by gakuto, who knew that shishido meant business. shishido took off immediately.
gakuto: i only met shishido when i first came to hyoutei, but we have a certain understanding. if taki had tried to go, shishido would probably have cut him down right there and then, so i held him back.
jirou: *laughs* shishido got really mad - he looked like he was going to kill all of us if we tried to stop him. but i don't blame him - he's really close to ootori... *winks* they're like two halves that make a whole, you know?
kabaji: i was concerned. but if buchou gave his permission, then i have no problems with it. i trust atobe san.
hiyoshi: shishido killed all of them, but he sustained the worst injury out of us all so far. till now, there's a huge diagonal scar on his back. according to ootori, a jagged, thick, butcher-like blade went in almost 4cm deep, and it tore through his tendons. i can't believe he even manged to make it back to ootori's clinic - it must have been sheer willpower and adrenaline.
atobe: following that incident, shishido and ootori became more and more inactive. ootori is a capable man and he definitely didn't show it, but both shishido and ore-sama knew that he was still traumatized by the incident. i stopped involving them with regular operations. they moved out of the main house to an apartment nearby and are living their own lives day by day.
well, they come when i call them - that's more than enough for me, for us... we still keep in contact, of course... we're a family. naa, kabaji?
kabaji: usu.
