But The Avatar of Greed himself can be excused for a bit selfishness here and there, could he not?
Being selfish didn’t come as a bother to him, hell, it was a part of him.
What did bother him was the fact the stupid human was making him want to be selfish.
And then without thought—
“…Listen. The next time your life’s in danger, I’m gonna be the one to save you, all right? Don’t you forget that.”
And as if that wasn’t bad enough to say to a human you met weeks ago—
“…And if I can’t manage to save ya, then make sure you die, got it?!”
“It’s me or no one, understand?!”
He wanted to bury himself alive at the confused look you gave him. Of course, you’d do that— making him look like a fool, his thoughts were reasonable you were the one making it weird—!
After a beat you smiled.
“Got it!”
You said it as a joke, he could hear it in your tone. But damn you for making his heart beat like that! Who in hell smiles after someone practically asks them to die?!
His human is strange.
And it’s their damn fault for making him love them.
