Maui Brewing Co. - Mana Wheat
Finally getting to start drinking beers from the summer beer swap I was a part of.
Whoa! I know it's the pineapple juice, but I swear this beer smells like a peach pie (my favorite)! The aroma is fairly heavy and insultingly sweet. As it opens up, the aroma lightens and is harder and harder to detect the ultra sweetness that comes through in that first whiff..
The flavor picks up where the aroma leaves off, but the sweetness in the aroma evens out nicely with the wheat and malt. No typical banana or coriander flavors here- this thing is almost pure pineapple and malt. The body is much lighter expected. The beer pours a thick head and is a beautiful shade of light orange amber. Nice and cloudy, too.
