Not even the Mass Effect fandom can bring me down today.
We were all packed into a conjoined table in the back room (so our loudness wouldn't disrupt the rest of the Ihops customers). I sat against the wall, and my friend Bob Dill (you can't just call him Bob it's just weird. You feel compelled to call him his whole name.) sat next to me.
We all finish eating, and the loud chatting begins. One side of the table is talking about Dr. Who (my side), and the other side is talking about LARP countries. Bob Dill wants to talk LARP and Kelsey wanted to talk Dr. Who so they switch seats. Kelsey is now sitting next to me.
So we're talking and talking, and the next thing I know I hear Kelsey utter the phrase "my feels". I stop the conversation, and just look at her. When I finally speak I say "You speak Tumblr?!" And to my excitement she says "Yes! Yes, I speak Tumblr!"
The two of us flail a little bit (a lot a bit...), my husband is sitting across from me like "Oh dear God not another one..." But somehow Kelsey and I get into OTPs of Dr. Who (WE SHIP THE SAME SHIPS!), and they we somehow bounced from Dr. Who to League of Legends... WHERE WE STILL SHIP THE SAME SHIPS! I thought I was the only one to throw myself so much into the League lore that I shipped things!
That is the story of how I met Kelsey for the first time. (And also possibly got her to ship Grownup!Nunu and Grownup!Annie.)
Random Note: When we migrated outside after we were done eating, I totally beat my friend Quell in the parking lot. Sword and Shield vs Dual Wielding Swords. I came out victorious. That shield was kinda heavy though...
