Morning news: I started reading Beastars
I had been hearing people talk about it a lot lately but I didn't know what to expect...
Some people don't like it just because of the whole animals in anthropomorphic forms, but I don't mind it. I neither like it or dislike it. I mean, I'm used to read mangas where the characters are not exactly humans so animals it's okay for me too.
But I also didn't know what to expect about the topics of the manga. I started searching info about it and surprisingly I heard that the topics were really mature and interesting, so that raised my curiosity.
And today, after finding out that most of my classmates are huge fans of Beastars, I decided it was time to finally give it a chance.
So I finished the first chapter some minutes ago!
What do I think about it?
Well, I must say that the whole chapter made me feel really intrigued. Since the beginning, with the death of that poor alpaca, I kept wondering who the murderer could be.
I had my doubts about Legoshi, but I had heard he was a cute soft innocent character so I was like "It looks like it was him, but I don't think so... But it looks like it?" and I loved the twist at the end, which already made me like that character but at the same time keep doubting him (like, it looked obvious it was him? Is he hiding something?)
I also really liked the scenery. A school where carnivores and herbivores go together, but there's a notorious gap between them: they have different buildings, and they act different, having some prejudices about the other ones.
They go to class together but they can't help but act cautious around each other based on stereotypes. And now more, with a death having occurred...
It's a setting that makes it feel a bit sad but also realistic and I can't wait to see how the story develops and what other topics they are going to talk about. And also to meet new characters and how their relationships evolve!!
For now, what I am sure is that this manga is going to be in my "currently reading" list for so long and I'll probably enjoy it a lot!!
