Shrines on the grounds of Mangan-ji
Mangan-ji 満願寺 is a small Nichiren temple in the northern area of Kyoto. When I was wandering around it I discovered it actually had three shrines on its grounds.
Ayako Tenmangū (seen on the left of this photo)
What I believe to be a Benzaiten Hokora, the internet was not helping me with this one and the photos are blurry on the one website that was giving me info.
And a shrine called Akaitensha 阿伽井天社, who after doing some more digging enshrines the Buddhist aspect of Inari Ōkami, called Dakiniten-sama. Apparently this one is prayed to to ward off fires and evil.
All in all very neat. And reaffirming the fact that when I was in Japan, Tenjin-sama was definitely guiding me along, so many places I went to had Tenmangū sub shrines where I wasn't expecting to find them.
This temple also had a lot of beautiful flowers and fruit trees growing around it and in the nearby neighborhood.
