@mangfaldig​ sent: Aldo likes learning and it's hard to keep secrets when living so close to someone else. But this is one he thinks he's managed to figure out. With some help from Din's siblings, and classes he takes on his phone, he's able to greet the other man in sign: "su cuy'gar, ner ... " Well, he had almost had it.

To say he’s stunned is an understatement. In a way, he shouldn’t be surprised-- Aldo hadn’t exactly kept it secret that he thought learning Mando’a was a good use of his time-- but the sight of his signs still gets Din’s heart racing in a way he doesn’t think it’s done in... to be honest, ever.

His own hand lifts, his eyes wide and expressive, and he signs it back: “Su’cuy, ner vod.”

And then he backtracks, changes it-- “Ner cyare.”

With luck, Aldo won’t know what that change means. With luck, Din will be the one to teach him.

               ❝ but it does make it that much easier to discredit you. ❞   she’s not the kind of person to give empty reassurances.   if the woman says she’s crazy,  she’ll take her word for it.   it’s a waste of time to try disputing that when she’s done nothing to prove the statement wrong.    ❝ which is the last thing we need. ❞   ghanima supposes northern europe is better than nothing but even still,  she huffs,  picking her phone up from where it lays on the table.    ❝ i imagine you’d like as few people in your head as possible so we’ll do this the long way. ❞   it’s a kindness offered simply because she wants all the information she can get from magnolia.   chaining her down in her basement and prying such things from her,  when she’s offering it up freely,  would be another pointless enemy made.    ❝ how much do you know about what it is i do? ❞   granted,  she’s seen the folder tantalus has on her.   but what’s written on paper can be so different from what’s shared verbally. 

            she had never planned to make a crusade out of this.  all she had been seeking out was simple revenge,  catharsis that legal justice would never bring.  and then she figured nasya would release her and she would be done with this earth completely.  but things have...changed.  whatever they are now is new and complex.  and she finds herself enjoying the empowerment it brings.  but it also means she might have to learn to think of things differently,  reorganize her goals with ghanima’s vision.  ❝   not. much,  ❞  magnolia admits.  shoulders rise in a small shrug.  ❛   i found you by reputation more than factual information.   ❜  it’s added after a moment’s consideration.  the woman has made ripples in the paranormal community—  on the other side that is.  the true nature of her study and quality of her character is yet to be determined.  ❛   and we can do things however you find necessary.  i’m used to discomfort.  ❜   but,  it is refreshing to have someone care about what she wants.  even if it is merely a transactional kind of investment.
