“The beauty of this program is there are Cherokee people living across the United States, but because there are so few language speakers, a part of their shared culture is sometimes missing. How wonderful that the culture can be rediscovered in a new way via the language and that people can connect with one another in ways that they haven’t been able to previously. The fact that the vehicle bringing them together is the public library clearly demonstrates the power of libraries to truly change lives.”
