Steve could not deny that hadn’t been in this mindset before. Feeling lost in a world that was so different from the one he remembered. But what kept him going? His duty, the title, the world not learning from its mistakes? This year had seemed to be longer than others. So many things had happened, things they couldn’t prevent from happening even if they had tried their hardest. Today was a day where all of these memories were flooding through his mind as he replayed the past year. Though, the music he was dancing to with Mayven was pretty good. I reminded him of better times, easier times. And that brought a relaxed feeling through his body. The clock hit twelve and the new year had begun. Looking down at the woman in front of him, he returned her words with a soft smile. “Happy New Year.” he spoke before leaning closer to kiss her back.

Back to normal in no time..” the dakr haired male spoke as he laid there on the ground.

He wished, she was right. He wished for that so badly. They had lost. For the first time, the Avengers had lost. And the price of that defeat had been too high. Half of the universe got erased. Dusted away by a simple snap of fingers. Steve could never bring his thoughts into words, he would never know how to describe that awful feeling. Here he was now, left alone after he had lost everyone who was dear to him. “I never thought I could lose even more than I already did.” he spoke, his eyes still on the floor. After Peggy, he was relieved to know that Bucky, his old friend had still been there. Sam, who was an amazing friend, loyal and also always there for him. Both gone. Within a moment.

“I just don’t know how we undo this. How to fix this...” he sighed, this time, his blue eyes gazing up as pain was visible in them.

Silent, Bucky knew all too well how she felt. He was probably the master in telling people he was ookay when he really wasn’t. He had no idea what she went through, how it really felt for her but he just compared his own pain, his own loss to hers. Maybe it would be similar. Sighing, he gave a nod, his hand reaching out to place it on her shoulder before he decided to take her into a small hug. “I know you miss him. I do too.” he spoke. Steve had been gone, he had lived his life without him, with someone else. And that was okay. He wanted his friend to be happy. But where was he now? Where was his place in this world he got thrown into.

“He wants you to move on.” Bucky said as he slowly pulled away to look at her. “We both need to.”

Quickly, Beck reached out to grab the glass from her. “Oh no, I think you have enough for tonight.” he chuckled softly, amused by the situation, the scene the young woman caused. Not that anyone around them was paying attention. Everyone around them was probably as drunk as her and Quentin felt like he was the only sober one. Even if he had a couple drinks himself. As much as he hated his work at Stark Industries, how Tony had stolen his idea, the parties were good. Especially the Christmas party that was held every year.

“No more wine for you. Or champagne, or anything that includes alcohol.” he spoke, smiling and keeping the glass in his hands. “How about I bring you home? How does sleep sound now?”

“I guess, there could be worse company.” Clint replied at her words with a smile that soon turned into a little grin. The situation was simple. Locked in a rom whent he doorknob fell off, the Christmas party outside on it’s high. Leaning with his back against the wall across from it, he wondered why he didn’t try anything to get out there. Kicking through the door, throwing himself against it. But he was no Cap, no Thor, no Hulk who coudl easily break it. He was Clint.

“I bet Thor could smash it open with his bare hand.” he pointed out, glancing over at the woman with the same grin.
