In the Harry potter books, it's briefly mentioned that Merlin was a Slytherin. I don't remember when, but it's definitely canon.

I think that was on Pottermore, not in the books.  But it doesn't matter, because.  This is a different Merlin.  This is not J.K. Rowling's Merlin, canon in the Harry Potter universe, sorted into Slytherin.  This is BBC Merlin, in a Hogwarts AU.  I could justify him being placed in any other house, but I don't see many classic Slytherin traits in him.  In book one, the Sorting Hat says,

"Or perhaps in Slytherin

You'll make your real friends,

Those cunning folk use any means

To achieve their ends."

And in book four (the next time Harry gets to hear the Sorting Hat's song):

"And power-hungry Slytherin

Loved those of great ambition."

And book five (the last time Harry sees a Sorting Ceremony):

"For instance, Slytherin

Took only pure-blood wizards

Of great cunning, just like him"

Cunning, yes.  By any means?  Not really.  Not if it hurt someone else.  I could see him in Gryffindor--"daring, nerve, and chivalry"--Hufflepuff--"just and loyal"--or Ravenclaw--"wit and learning," but he just doesn't have the ambition for power of Slytherin.

honestly it was a lot of shedding false friends and a newfound love of shaving my head and dying my hair pink.  just by doing that i've started acting more naturally and putting up less walls around others

usually my anger.  like it's not an anger disorder but i can hold a grudge for weeks and rant about the same things repeatedly.  and then like if i get angry i'll just fume about it for the rest of the day and i can't NOT be angry you feel??  like i'm sure those are all v normal things but i don't generally like being angry so i'm like stop that

omg umm probably my ability to be genuinely apathetic after a certain point like that sounds so awful and isn't a good thing (and is a super asshole-ish sounding thing) but after not caring for so long nothing can hurt you as much you know??
