The Tattoo.
I wasn’t going to weigh in on this because it’s really kind of inconsequential. But hey, I never saw a point I didn’t want to argue so here I am.
It could be: a fake tattoo, a henna tattoo, no tattoo at all-just a doodle or some dirt, just a band aide covering an injury (burn, cut, scrape). It could be a band aid COVERING a tattoo that he has but isn’t ready to share, so yes, it could be a real tattoo.
If it is a tattoo, we certainly cannot tell what it is from the photos and we can’t rely on AI to “fix it” because AI interprets given images and then produces something that fits. Also, AI will scour the internet (in 1.2 seconds…scary) and find related things to the “Jungkook tattoo query”. Then it will adjust the photo to meet expectations. Unless you tell it not to do that, in which case it will tell you it’s too blurry to give an accurate depiction without making some “guesses”. If it is a tattoo, it could be some symbol that is special to Jungkook related to some life experience. It could be something cool he saw in a tattoo shop. It could even be a row of puppies, since this is apparently a “thing’ right now. But even THAT doesn’t mean it’s related to some female idol named after a season. It could be, of course, but how are people really drawing such a conclusion with such certainty? It’s very interesting how quickly people can be convinced/influenced with absolutely no provable data. Even the “coincidences” surrounding this nu-ship are flimsy as hell and have been systematically debunked. And don’t even get me started on the images that have been manipulated to show a peek of something, then circulated in order to convince people. If anything, this kind of behavior makes it all just that much more sus!
Really, all of this is just ramped up shipping that has crawled over into broader public spaces. Jungkook has never been actually seen with this woman other than in the same vicinity at a concert once, has never been seen out with her, or even talking to her at an event. People have just decided that since he went to her group’s concert once, or they saw a photo of the back of a female’s head at a gym he goes to (not even in the same frame with JK, by the way) that they would start sleuthing to find things that they can force into the shipping model to make it “real”. I KNOW that those people have just decided it’s real…because she’s a girl. That scenario is more palatable to some, sadly. Heteronormativity, we see you.
I have to admit, I’m a bit saddened by how easily some people in Jikook spaces have just thrown away years of in-your-face Jikookery over one photo of a maybe-tattoo that has never been proven to have any connection to anybody. I mean sure, I’ve talked about the situation with trusted friends…but in the end, the above thoughts are the conclusions I’ve come to with the given data. Which is…nothing.
Whatever it is, it clearly hasn’t bothered Jikook one bit. During the LA Live of the Century™️, during AYS2, the promos, and random photos posted by Namjoon…they’ve been their usual silly, funny, loving, flirty selves. And so much of how we see them behave doesn’t really seem to match up with them being with anybody else. So, for now, I’m going to continue to enjoy Jikook as I’ve been doing, because nothing has really changed. It’s all just noise from a bunch of people with anti-Jikook agendas.
