Manja Review: Food Allergy Aware Customer Service at Boston Chowder House in Downtown Los Gatos

Boston Chowder House came strongly recommended by Chuck Dimick, one of Ashley Nicolei’s dearest family friends. We can see why.
Quaint, warm, and personable the restaurant has the vibe of a local Scottish Chowder House with a Boston feel in downtown Los Gatos (Silicon Valley). Walking in, a live jazz singer was rockin the house with a sultry tune and greeted Ashley and her best friend with a warm hug (the woman being a friend of the family). Quaint and locavore loving, we aren’t kidding.
But where we were most impressed was at the table, with our server’s broad knowledge and attention to detail when it came to handling our tables tree nut allergy (see receipt above left photo for nut allergy note on our order). Not only did Nicole (server) notify the kitchen and chef of the allergy, she even included the allergy note on the receipt (a first for a restaurant in Los Gatos). Absolutely delighted by the attention to detail and kitchen prep precautions when it comes to nut allergies. Please note the kitchen also accommodates gluten allergies (notify your server when ordering).
Ashley Nicolei had the shrimp ceviche and steamed broccoli with garlic. Her dinner guest had lobster macaroni. The red wine (Pinot Noir) came from the Dimick’s Vineyards and the restaurant has a corkage few of $18.00 .
