Sad Blue Shadows
A/N: It is Silhouette aka @askthertrio‘s birthday today! She wanted some sad Blue Shadows (Manny x Silhouette), so I gave it shot. I hope you enjoy and happy birthday! (And happy valentine’s day or whatever you call it. :) )
Manny sat at the controls, a hand covering his face. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t fix all of the damage that stupid Laptop had caused. He had let his family get hurt, wrecked some files, and did something even worse: he hurt Silhouette. He had messed up some of her coding. It was beyond repair, despite Manny’s desperate attempts at repair.
“Manny?”
He looked over his shoulder to see her standing there. “Hey,” He whispered as he turned around. “Is everything okay?” They both knew things weren’t going to be perfect based on the recent events.
Silhouette folded her hands together. “That was what I was going to ask you. I… Heard some noises of frustration,” She started as her clocklike eyes looked at the screen. “I…” She trailed off as her head cocked to the right. “Manny, what is that?”
“Huh?” He whipped back around. “O-oh,” His voice faltered. The screen was displaying the failed attempts at fixing her reproductive system. “It’s just a bug I’m trying to fix, love.”
She stepped closer, eyes fixed on the screen. “What is it actually saying?” Silhouette knew what it was, but she didn’t want to believe it until he said it.
Manny swallowed and looked down at the keyboard. “Laptop… The moron did so much damage to the system, as you already know. When I started digging deeper, I… I noticed some issues with your coding. Reproduction, specifically. I’m trying to fix it, but I don’t think I can…” He looked back up at her to see her jaw was slack. “Sil…”
“I’m alright,” Her voice slightly cracked. “We don’t need a legacy, anyway. Pets are better than children. They can’t really break your heart and they’re more loyal.” Silhouette closed her eyes, most likely trying to prevent tears.
He stood up and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to his body. “It’ll be okay eventually, Silhouette. I promise. I’ll fix it somehow and find a way for us to have children when you want them. I promise.”
He never did break that promise. He had their son, their legacy, Manny Junior, but at a cost. He put his life on the line (and died willingly) to make her happy. She was torn without him, though and died three years after him. And behind them, they left MJ a huge legacy to uphold and so many people to take care of.
