MAN OF PURPOSE PT.1

Ephesians 5:25-26 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.

Last week, many people were blessed when we started the series on the Virtuous Woman. A lot of males were very excited because the devotion seemed to focus on the woman. But today we turn our focus by the Spirit to the man. The place of a man or a husband and the responsibility that comes with it is no joke. And it is important for every male to take their lives seriously and for every female to properly and carefully decide who they want to be with. Unless you want to live by your own standards or by the standards of the world, the standard of the Word, which is truth is that the wife must be submitted to the husband. The Bible says Colossians 3:18

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

Submission means to be obedient and to accept the authority and control of someone else. Even if you don't like it, that's what the Word of God says. The Word says that the wife must be submitted; in other words obedient to and accept the authority and control of her husband. It matters whose control and authority you are under to. You can imagine being under the control of someone who isn't born again and doesn't have the nature of God; or someone who isn't filled with the Spirit or someone who doesn't live by the Word and doesn't fellowship with the Holy Spirit. You've already signed up for trouble. As 'frustrating' as working under an unreasonable boss is; being married to a purposeless man can be very traumatizing. As a woman, you have a responsibility over your unborn children to choose the right father for them. That means you need to grow out of that carnal mentality of just being dazzled by external features and transient feelings and make decisions based on the solid Word of God.

As a man, you have a "Christly" responsibility over your wife and over your whole family. The same Lordship and responsibility that the Father has given Jesus Christ over the Church is the same responsibility He has given you over your wife and your family. That responsibility is enormous compared to the wife submitting to her husband. You must be purposeful, diligent, responsible, sacrificial, filled the Word and the Spirit and above all be an embodiment of the exact love of Christ as is shown in the opening verse.

You have no right to take upon yourself a woman when you are not set on course in divine purpose. You may not have completely discovered your exact purpose but at least you should be on course to fulfilling it. Meaning, you must be born again, be filled with the Spirit and be on a steady and strict diet of the Word. Remember the primary purpose of the wife; the primary reason why God made woman: to be a help meet for a man who had been given and was found in divine purpose. Until you are clear about divine purpose, you're not ready for a help meet. It's the same for a woman: you have no business joining the chariot of a man who is not conscious about divine purpose. You can't be a help meet for someone with no clear purpose in life.

To be called a man or a husband is a responsibility. It is not for jokers. It is for people who have been trained and brought up in the Word to command authority with love. It for those who are filled with the Word enough to be a source of life to their wife and family. It is for those who command physical and spiritual authority over their own lives and homes. A man; a man of purpose is the Christ-man; full of the Spirit; full of love; full of grace; full of power and full of passion for God, for his wife and for his family. Are you a man?

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for this grace and responsibility of being a man and a husband. It is only by Your grace that I can be who you expect me to be. By the supply of Your Spirit I am a man of purpose in the Name of Jesus.

- Kisses are the bomb, but there is always something so sincere and warm about a hug.
