Hallowed Be Thy Name by Rotting Christ from the album The Heretics - Video made by: Andy Pilkington
The darker the sky, the brighter the stars
Defile Des Ames, In Vein @ Modu Club, 05/10/16
For the second time in the last two years, Death In June arrived in Athens to give us the Last Europa Kiss, night at the Modu club on Kolonou Street in Metaxourgeio.
The Athenians In Vein , as a trio, with two guitars and a violin, welcomed us to the cozy, small space of the club. With covers of "Tainted Love", "Brandon Lee", "Rebel Yell", but also with their own songs.
The appearance of the gothic-rock group drew attention to the prominence of Elias' voice, but leaving the guitars, which are their main instrument, and the violin to be lost.
Thus, they failed to convey their sound and transport us to their musical world
Their sound, better than last time, channeled doses of both "Peaceful Snow" and older albums such as "Burial" (1984) with the evocative "We Drive East", "But What Ends When The Symbol Shatter?" (1992), "Nada!" (1985), "The Rule Of Thirds" (2008). In the second part, the mask fell and we heard him alone, accompanied by guitar, in an all-time classic setlist, in which the audience also participated with choices.
Thus, we shivered with "But What Ends When The Symbols Shutter?", in its acoustic version, "Accidental Protege", "Luther's Army", "Hollows Of Devotion", the masterpiece "Fall Apart", "Runes And Men", "The Mourner's Bench", "Little Black Angel".
The stage exuded mysticism and mysticism, under the flames of candles and a red beam of light.
Manos Six (guitar, vocals, ex-Defile Des Ames, Skull & Dawn ) took the stage prepared for a musical story of memories of Defile Des Ames' only album, "Lust 'n' Stone" (2008).
With Iliana Koretsi on cello and Sean Ragon of Cult Of Youth on percussion,
dedicated their performance to the original members of Defile Des Ames, who were mingling that night with the audience, re-playing everything they left us in the period 1998-2004
