A Grave Mistake || One-Shot (Flashback)
Ollie's plane from Seattle had landed at an airport just outside Gotham city. He'd had a memorable time in Seattle with Roy, but it felt good to be back home. Still, knowing that Roy was a living person with a tombstone felt weird, wrong almost. So, on the plane ride, Ollie had made up his mind, he was going to visit Roy's grave, as "a good soldier." felt too detached.
Making his way to Roy's grave, Ollie brought a pad of paper, a pen and some tape. It may not have been the most elegant of solutions, but it worked. Ollie wasn't quite sure what he was going to do yet, but he was sure something would come to him when he got there.
Stepping out of his car, he made his way to the grave and sat down on the ground next to it. He wasn't sure how long he sat there before having a flash of inspiration. He brought the pen to the paper and carefully wrote out what he wanted to say.
After it was all done he sighed a sigh of relief and smiled before the tore off the extra paper, leaving a strip with 5 words on it. He quickly taped over it, covering it with packing tape and putting duct tape around the edges just to make sure it stayed. He turned to leave, looking back for a moment at the grave that now read:
Roy William Harper Jr. A good soldier and an even better friend.
