"the most canadian thing i've seen in my life" as told to me by my roommate
So I attend the University of Waterloo, and if there’s one thing you need to know about uW, it’s geese. Canada geese. We get infographic posters on the geese—especially around nesting season—the way one would circulate information on how to avoid a pandemic. We sell t-shirts that read “I survived nesting season”. They are fearless geese who are not afraid to nest half a metre away from the sidewalk. They’d probably nest on the sidewalk if no one were walking on it.
So this one goose was trying to nest by the window right outside my dormitory’s cafeteria.
The obvious solution was for a group of 15 or so male students to rush outside with hockey sticks and chase the goose off. I am told one or some of them was wearing a hard hat and that they were wearing lumberjack shirts. The goose kept trying to come back so they put a rock where it made its attempts.
A bunch of men in lumberjack shirts were chasing off a single Canada goose with hockey sticks.
My roommate said it was glorious.
