Circa 1900′s  Antique Victorian French Ivory Mantilla Hair Comb Sold to the prop department for HBO's show Divorce! * Known as Spanish or mantilla comb because it resembles the traditional high topped tortoiseshell ornaments worn by Spanish ladies with their native dress. This comb is made from French Ivory, an early celluloid substance which was invented to substitute for the much more expensive elephant ivory which was becoming rare and expensive by the early 20th century.
