Well, yesterday, I spent the entire day trying to remodel that EA bakery lot into something useable for this town. I plunked it down by the harbor and was planning on using it as a catch-all for 3 rabbithole’s – the military, bookstore/spa combo, and grocery. And it actually came out pretty nice. But then – in the middle of the night – I woke up, and said to myself, “Self, screw that lot. Just pitch it.” So today, I did.

I didn’t really play much today because we had to bomb the house due to some fleas that decided to move in. We spend a fortune on products for our 2 dogs, and suddenly – during this last heat wave – they decide to stop working. So both dogs had to go to the groomer to be dipped, while we bombed the house. Good times!

But I did manage to play a bit this afternoon, and decided to fiddle with one of the lots Manu made for this town. It has 4 separate builds on it – one of which, is a rabbithole. In the original, she had placed that grocery/diner combo from Murky Hollow (aka Midnight Hollow) here. But since Sandy’s riverboat down by the port is an actual diner, I decided to switch out the grocery/diner for the bookstore/spa one from the same town.  You can see it in this 1st picture.

The rabbithole is the dark glob, right behind Manu’s build. I like the RH, but not the color. So, I went over to MTS and grabbed that mod that lets you recolor rabbitholes. (AussomeDays is the creator). Anyway, I will be experimenting with it, the next time I go in-game. Because Murky Hollow has some really nifty-looking RHs, but the colors suck the big one. I had thought about using that science one, but changed my mind just for that reason.

But back to the lot. This is the ground floor of the Irish pub she built. I really had almot nothing to do, but I did use some light/decals in the windows that I got years ago – can’t remember where – that some lovely person created for St. Patrick’s Day. She also created all the “Irish” pictures on the walls. On this level, there is the main public area –aka: bar - and that “secret” room, where all the members of the “let’s overthrow the government” group meet.

Upstairs is the office of the owner, and some rooms where ladies of the night can entertain their guests. Again I did very little. I did change out all of the lights to those kerosene ones, and deleted the sinks in the rooms to some deco crap from the Storybook and Regal sets. And gave them some holey rugs – from Cemre’s Poor and Happy set. The office rug is from b5Studios. And that was it.

Then, on another corner of the lot, is this fine establishment. (Still trying to think of a decent name). BTW, the pub is to the right of it in this picture.

This is, as you can see, a bit more upscale than the pub. I did almost nothing to this build – other than change the sofas, that folding screen, and add those 2 chandeliers and the floor-lamps. Oh, and I added the handrail on the stairs.

Then upstairs, I switched out some of those dominos tables for those gambling things that EA created for Lucky Palms. And I added those 3 armchairs. But other than that, it’s as Manu created it.

Then – since I plan on bulldozing the Murky Hollow police/military lot that Manu plunked down in this town and putting a park there instead, I needed to relocate my police and military. I’ve decided to use that prison lot I created for the cops – and I even found some military outfits that I can tweak a tad, to look like old-fashioned police uniforms. So that is good.

Anyway, this build on the lot was just an empty shell. So, I decided to place my military rabbithole rug on the 2nd floor, and use the ground level for 

my commander’s office 

and a small training/conference room. I put those 2 statues out front, to remind the other ne’er-do-wells on this lot, that there is a “government presence“ here, and smuggling, prostitution, plotting revolutions, and other illicit activities are frowned upon. To the side, I built that passageway, using cyclonesue’s London arches - connecting this build to the rabbithole to the right of the initial picture. Behind it, I placed that rock-climbing object, so my recruits can stay in shape. And this lot is done! 

I still need to think of a name for the entire lot, and one for the gambling den. The “Irish” pub is currently named Paddys  - yes I know. So not original. But oh well.
