I swear. Like I SWEAR, one time I broke something with an oak door in my hand and the door. lost durability. the door had a durability bar. and I’ve held this memory for, like, a long time, since I was probably like 5-7. I’ve even told it as an anecdote a few times.

Someone once told me to look up “door durability glitch” to see if I could find anything more on it. I couldn’t. No such mention. And ever since I’ve kinda wondered if this core memory of mine was just a dream I misremembered as reality. idk

I think about the in universe dandy’s world fandom every day. I personally think Connie x Looey was a rarepair that had a small but dedicated following (they hadn’t met in canon yet) but eventually there was an episode where they appeared in the background of a shot talking to each other and like everyone who liked those two made it their profile picture for at least a month

i think "intrinsically" is the operative word here - the idea that both gender- and other forms of bodymind noncompliance are innate, pathological, and fixed reek of bioessentialism, even if they're presented in a progressive way (e.g. 'born this way' lgbtq arguments that justify tolerance based on the idea that we can't help it).

ultimately, these ideologies are dangerous not only because they offer a veneer of tolerance for reactionary, essentialistic ideas, but they also provide the architecture for eugenic practices (autism cure, "gay gene, etc.) + shared forms of corrective abuse (ABA/conversion abuse).

it isn't bad that there's a lot of overlap between autism and trans identity (it's only bad if you have a problem with one or both of these things) but we should be framing it as "hmmm these relationships to sociality that are disruptive, noncompliant, and/or boundary-breaking share a lot in common, and social conditions hostile to trans people seem especially hostile to autistic people too, and vice-versa so it's no wonder why they tend to co-occur." not "autism and Gender Identity Disorder™ are comorbid"
