I don't know when nor how but this man is going down in history. I've seen him do things with a guitar that are absolutely unexplainable. We became friends because we both study music like two crazy people. I pop up at his house and we talk about Hendrix, Miles , Betty Davis , and their musical universe for hours. Rock & Roll started in Saint Louis and was invented by Chuck Berry. The blues was started by a homeless gentlemen sleeping under a bridge named W.C. Handy (1914). I can't be a musician from here and not honor these people. Our set up wasn't right -- it took them an hour to set up our stage up. We remained patient and steadfast.We talked about canceling the Prince tribute (which we do at every show ) because we imagined we didn't wanna look like fools for covering the God in front of musical royalty. I decided to let it run at the last minute. We showed up on time did our part and the set got cut. Performing on a stage in the corner after a hellish week of sleeping on floors and in hotel lobbies, and THEN getting locked up for something we didn't even damn do. Sounds like rock & roll to me. He broke his strings early in the show and kept going. We couldn't hear shit onstage -- no monitors. Made it work #PurpleRain. Mind you he played this while barely being able hear the music onstage. #manyrivers salute @_monkh_ it ain't always pretty for bands like us .. We train ourselves to survive and see another day. Blessed to have him onboard as one of our anchors.
