very thankful there's a website to help me find the most suitable projection for this map of europe... projectionwizard.org is my new best friend :')
Cahill’s six point world map projection - it’s nice for showing the Americas with proper distances to Europe and Australasia at the same time, depending on how you turn the image. Can’t get that with a more common projection where continents that are next to each other are displayed on opposite sides of the map. The downside is that it uses two Americas so this map isn’t accurate for number of continents on the planet. The upside is that there’s two Canadas, which is nice

Agnes Denes, Isometric Systems in Isotropic Space: Map Projections, Snail, 1974.
«Isometric Systems in Isotropic Space: Map Projections, like most of my work, involves distortions and perspective, probability and space relations, transformations and interactions of phenomena.. Maps Projections creates sculptural form in celestial space and presents analytical propositions in visual form. It is a tantalizing game if one learns to read between coordinates and doesn’t mind making sport of the human predicament. Map Projections are ‘sculptured reality,’ projecting a dynamic world of rapidly changing concepts and measures, where the appearances of things, facts, and events are assumed manifestation of reality, and distortions are the norm. Today’s knowledge must be reassessed to cope with new concepts of probability and catastrophe theories, curved space, and black holes. In Map Projections, the anatomy of form is studied, vectors are built, earth measurements and scale factors rearranged. Longitude and latitude lines are unraveled and continents are allowed to drift. Gravity has been tampered with, earth mass altered, polar tension released..»
