If you dig #crawfish, have a feast for $30 and under at two #fests in #Chicago and #Blue Island, IL.

Get your crawfish fix at The 23rd Annual Headsucker’s Ball at McGee’s Tavern &Grille on Saturday, May 19. For this fest, there will be over 2,000 pounds of Louisiana crawfish boiled with andouille sausage, corn, gumbo, red potatoes, jambalaya, red beans and rice. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $25 at 10 a.m.

Live entertainment: 2 p.m. Hurricane Gumbo & 8 p.m. Mike Enguita Trio

Tickets are available at the door, bring cash: $25 per person

  Go to Maple Tree Inn for the 12th Annual Crawfish Fest on Sunday, May 20. Doors open at 4p.m., for $30 All you can eat on a first come, first serve basis and open seating.

Feast  on savory vittles that includes the following; crawfish boil with corn &potatoes, spicy boiled New Orleans shrimp, Hickory smoked spareribs, hand cut Cajun fries, peanut coleslaw, jalapeño corn muffins, bread pudding with bourbon sauce, all 26 craft beers on the draught, and Drink specials: Hurricanes, Zombies, Margaritas and  Louisiana Iced Teas. Live Blues entertainment featuring Dwayne Dirrty Richardson.

Green Drinks in Blue Island

On March 3rd, staff from the Blue Island Community Development Dept. and a crowd of locals made their way to Flossmoor Station for the first Green Drinks in the Chicago Southland. The event brought together over 45 people to make new connections around green issues in the Southland. Planners, activists, landscape architects, bicycle advocates, and others interested in creating a sustainable future enjoyed a night filled with optimism for our region.
