Pretty simple hike with the trail mostly following the river upstream to the waterfall. Started this hike a good distance along the trail as I was in a 4x4 pickup. If you’re in a regular vehicle, you may need to park by the bridge and walk from there which will add about 10 minutes to your journey

One of my favourite hikes as Rincon Waterfall is simply spectacular. The trail is easy to follow and can actually be done as part of a circuit. There are two main junctions on this trails - the right fork at the first intersection goes to Habio Waterfall (take the left path to Rincon) and at the next junction take the right path to go down to Rincon Waterfall (the left path continues as the circuit). I’ll explain better in a subsequent post.

Decent hike with a nice waterfall!

This was my third attempt in doing this hike and this time, it was totally worth it as the journey provided fantastic views of Port of Spain and the St. Ann’s Valley. 

I don’t recommend that you try this hike though unless you know the trail is going to be cleared beforehand (as I did on this attempt) as it is usually overgrown with razor grass. On my first try, didn’t realize that the trail was so bushy and didn’t make it too far along while on the second attempt, my friends and I tried to clear the path using cutlasses but again we were defeated.

The trek to Angel Falls (also known as Tucuche Waterfall) is really simple and definitely worthwhile. Some sections of the trail are muddy but there are cables to hold onto. To get to the base of the falls, you have to scale some gentle rock faces so take off your shoes and take your time as they are slippery.
