Memes of The Watch Part 3: I WAS MAKING A MAP!
Hehehehehe here it is, the one that started it all.
For those of you who are unaware, I started writing this AU back in December 2018, less than a week before Sean posted the distorted “Silent Night” to Instagram on the first anniversary of the Overnight Watch and the “Still Here I See” incident the next day.
I missed both of the community fires that resulted from these events by several hours, completely oblivious to what was happening because I was making the first map of Duilintinn.

*Incidentally, these were also my first two reports to The Watch in the standard “Fellow Watchers” style, which has remained consistent since the beginning.
At some point, @shamrockace made the first meme at the top of this post, but for the life of me I can’t find the initial conversation that led to it’s creation.
Needless to say, after missing two major community fires due to my newfound interest in cartography, the joke stuck, with hilarious results. These are only a few examples; we’d be here all day if I screencapped every time discord started chanting “MAPS MAPS MAPS” at the slightest chance.
It started with just the jokes about how Anti was waiting for me to get distracted...
But as it turns out, I might have a bit of a cartography addiction:
Which eventually became contagious...
Next thing I knew, the Chicken Incident happened while I was making another map:
And soon after, there was that one time it was Darkiplier instead:
And needless to say, from there on out, the joke sorta just exploded.
Most of the time, it’s just people chanting “MAPS MAPS MAPS” in discord whenever I mention I’ve started making another one, but every so often, we’ll get another coincidence that only heightens the meme...
Even my little sister is in on it!
She also made the second meme at the top of the page for me, apparently screencapped directly from a class she was taking online that day XD
