So, some Tribe Nine chapter 3 thoughts that have been spinning around in my head

I love the mood of Neo Chiyoda, especially in contrast with the previous two cities. I love that it's set in harsh sunlight with stark shadows. The veneer of peace atop destruction. Everything seems bright and lively and fun, and there are huge empty cutouts where buildings have been torn from the ground, and these things are equally normal.

I think it's great to be actually dealing with Yo's emotional state after the previous chapters, and particularly touching on how he's in a position that makes him extremely vulnerable to manipulation.

Magata was fine as a chapter villain, although he didn't quite strike the same villain-enjoyer part of my brain the way Ichinose did, nor did he really have the intrigue of Sui, but whatever, he was serviceable, and he worked well as a counterpart to Ojiro. I think the twist with him is pretty good, and it actually did get me (I spent a good chunk of the chapter fully convinced he was fully a fictional entity). It makes sense that this kind of cult-leader personality would rise among a populace desperate for some new leadership after the downfall of the Otoris.

The sequence against the U-DX was EXTREMELY good. Scripted fights can be kind of hit or miss, but in general Tribe Nine has done pretty well in making them feel tense and important. I think it hit particularly well for me as someone who mostly plays Q.

Every step of the way, I grow less and less convinced that we aren't expected to just take Q/Kazuki as a canon relationship. Like, yes, I was also under the impression that this was a queerbait situation, but literally nothing in the game has said that their "partnership" is platonic, other than the other characters perhaps not actually being aware of the nature of their relationship. If I'm forgetting something, or something else comes out to change that, then I'll eat my words, but at the moment I feel pretty damn comfortable referring to them as a canon pairing.
