I'd say a full bio, but I'm not exactly representative of most people.

I think social history might be more attractive to teens than a biography class...Speaking of young people I was chatting with my sister who's taking a History of the South class and I told her to be sure to bring up Laurens, so that will be a thing
I know what you mean. But I feel wary of tackling just one topic like the black regiment, because then I'd also need to discuss the history of slavery in the South, which is a much larger topic that I have very basic knowledge of. But I'm glad you've told your sister about Laurens!
