I have recently gotten a new job at the library. It's great. I get to come in whenever and leave whenever. Putting books away allows me to hyper focus while feeling accomplished and getting work done. My only issue is that after working maybe two hours max I am completely exhausted and just can't focus anymore even if I love doing whatever the task is. It's like my brain shuts off and I'm physically so tired, so I can only work for a few hours at the time which is not ideal. Is that normal?
For ADHD, definitely. If you can switch things up for even ten minutes every half hour or so, you’ll probably be able to last longer. I don’t mean you need to take a break from your job for ten minutes, but if you can stop every half hour or so and do a quick sweep of the library to find books to add to your pile to put away and check the return bins and so on, that would probably help your brain reset and get you more time in the end.
