It's almost the end of pride month, and we've got a little (big) milestone to celebrate. Lookouts has reached one million views!
It's hard to truly wrap your head around such a big number. It's ticked up in the background of our lives while we've grown and made so many changes, living such different lives compared to the brief moment when that counter still read 0. Thank you doesn't begin to cover it. A million thank you's wouldn't cover it. We're so lucky that Lookouts still gets to be seen and enjoyed by new people every day, and that people make space in their lives for our art.
Happy Pride, fellow outlaws. Keep riding towards the future, and we'll see you there.
Howdy everyone, been a bit! Happy trans day of visibility again, and happy 4th anniversary to Lookouts! We've got just a couple things for you folks (which is more than last year in fairness), so let's get to it.
Merch shop is now open again!
Sorry for the long wait on this one, we've had a few bumps in the road with new regulations and restocking and generally having busy lives, but it's back now! Everything is in stock besides the artbooks and the bundle (which includes an artbook), which are currently on preorder. Preorders are open till April 15th and we aim to ship by April 30th. Go get your swag, gang! -> https://marbleclaws.bigcartel.com/

New patch incoming
Work on it started too late for the anniversary but there's going to be a housekeeping patch/update coming up. This'll be upgrading the game to a more recent version of the engine, as well as migrating backend stuff to a new system and doing some UI clean up. No new content or anything, just keeping the game in tip-top shape for the foreseeable future.
Future projects
We've seen a little speculation on what/whether we are working on new projects, and unfortunately circumstances change, so any info we've given out before is probably outdated. As things currently stand we have no new projects being actively worked on. This may be disappointing to those who were looking forward to new work from us, and we are very humbled and grateful that's the case. Sadly making games takes a lot of time and money we don't have, and we're focused on our lives and jobs right now. We hope this might change sometime and we can work on new games, but for the time being we don't have anything to share. Sorry!
As always, thank you for all your incredible support over the years. We're very lucky Lookouts has grown to be what it is, and the game is still being discovered by so many people. Keep fighting, keep being loudly gay and trans and looking out for each other, and keep the fire in your heart burning so that no one may put it out.
happy pride month! things are tough right now, but we have each other, and we're going to persevere. we've always been here and we're going nowhere. don't let the bastards grind you down. trans rights forever! 🏳️🌈🤠
For the 3rd anniversary, we're doing a character Q&A! Ask any of the characters from Lookouts (alive or dead) anything you like (within reason)! DM's are open here, on twitter, and asks are open on tumblr. We'll gather them up and answer with some doodles later in the week 🤠
I just finished playing and I couldn't have imagined how moving a story this is. Be so incredibly proud of the work you've done, it means so much to me and so many people <3
Thank you so much for the kind words. It's been so many years now that sometimes I take it for granted, but when I really take in how many people still talk about Lookouts and love it and are still discovering it and look at all the fanworks, it makes me pretty emotional!! We're very blessed for the game to have been found by people like you <3
In the distant future will there be a possibility of a discord server (or any communication platform) being created?
Can't cope w the ending T~T would like to suffer w everyone else that loves the game too.
Thank you <3
An official discord is probably never going to happen, sorry. Running a server for even a small fanbase is actual work and we don't have the time or interest in taking on that responsibility as it stands. Sorry to disappoint!
Hey, do you want to play a visual novel about gay trans cowboys falling in love?
If that sounds like your thing then we humbly recommend Lookouts! It's a romance/drama visual novel set in the Old West. Two lookouts scouting for gold meet in the desert, and end up in the fight for their lives, and each other.
The game is completely free to play and is just by two silly queers who wanted to see more stories like this out in the world. It would mean the world to us if you gave it a look!
VERY big fan and cried during this game, have/would you ever consider making plushies of our favorite queer icons?
We've discussed many a time the logistics of making any kind of 3D thing with these characters and the problems with it, because they are very designed for 2D and are resistant to being 3D. As far as plushies go though, no, it seems unlikely we'd do something like that, especially when almost all our merch is in-house.
