March Fires by Birds of Tokyo

Birds of Tokyo // White Leaves
White leaves fall on, a pale background Bright light surrounds, even the shade is warm
A breeze so kindly softens a winters grip Please wait with me, we can take in the sun
Time to say goodbye, I feel change is coming When dawn begins to break, our cold days are over
Open full bloom among endless fields The white fringe welcomes a new season
We'll be alright in this light
To lie again, to lie under the summer To lie again, to lie under the summer
We'll be alright in this light
So, I finally listened to Birds of Tokyo. Or, I did. A week or so ago actually. When I went to Rise with my very good friend, we both went music shopping before the concert, and we got two albums each; one that we picked ourselves, and one that the other picked for us. On a budget of course, we went for cheapies--only $10 cds--’cause we still needed money for merch and shit. He made me get this Birds of Tokyo cd. Birds of Tokyo being Ian Kenny’s other band. Ian Kenny from Karnivool, that is. I made him get The National’s High Violet (only the standard edition, deluxe was too expensive). I’m glad he chose this for me though--‘cause I probs never would’ve listened to it of my own accord--it’s actually very good. Of course the seven minute song is my favourite though.

Wait, am I about to lose myself again In between these walls so torn and thin Everything is seen for what it is Why don't I feel like all the others
“The Others” Birds of Tokyo
On we march With a midnight song We will light our way With our lanterns on On we march Till we meet the dawn We will light our way With our lanterns on
