1981 Kenwood BMW M1/C (aka March 81P-01): Powered by a 3.5-liter, Bosch Kugelfischer mechanically fuel-injected inline-six-cylinder M88 engine delivering 485 horsepower (362 kW). It tipped the scales at just 1,980 pounds (898.1 kg). At 180 mph, short of its full potential, the M1/C’s aggressive aero package, including a massive rear wing, was estimated to produce over one ton of down force.
