You guys these new Vocaloids are fucking interesting

I got hooked on their design cause it’s fucking awesome

Normally, whenever new Vocaloids are released (especially moe ones), the first thing I look for is whether or not they sound identical to another Vocaloid or they sound similar but distinct. These two are the latter.

To me, they both sound like Una mixed with another Vocaloid

Hime sounds like a mix of Una and Miku

Mikoto sounds like a mix of Una and Flower

But it’s not too distracting and I’m not gonna mistake them for another Vocaloid unlike a certain someone *cough cough* Lumi still sounds exactly like IA don’t @ me*cough*

But right now, I like them so far. The main thing hooking me in is their design and they haven’t even been around for a full day and I’m already planning on writing shit about them.

Although they’re taking a page out of Corrin’s book by not wearing any shoes.

Excuse me I’m just gonna casually go back to my Jonas Brothers phase back in 2008 because they’re back and I wanna relive my childhood.

So I just got back from watching The Hidden World. My friends admit they were waiting for me to start bawling and I did once the credits rolled. But I got some things to say while I’m still crying.

First off, I’m gonna say that the animation was drop dead gorgeous and the soundtrack was 10/10. And when the credits started with Hiccup befriending Toothless for the first time, I lost it and screamed “DON’T FUCKING DO THIS TO ME!”. I had a HTTYD blanket that I took with me and I just cried on it man.

Now before I saw the movie, I saw a post from @shima-draws that Hiccup and Toothless’s friendship gets shoved to the side for Toothless’s romance with the LightFury. This made me worried, but I decided not to think about it until I saw the movie.

I now know what she meant.

I won’t say there’s a complete disregard, but there is a disregard on Toothless’s end because he doesn’t really think about Hiccup throughout the movie. And when Toothless was in the Hidden World with all of the other dragons, he looked like he didn’t want to leave, and it showed when he did. I mean, I kinda get it. Toothless runs into another of his kind and he wants to know more. Cool. Whatever. But if the LightFury was male, the same thing would have happened, and I probably wouldn’t be as bothered by it as I am.

Also, if it was just Toothless being infatuated with the fact that he’s not the only NightFury instead of falling in love, I feel like that would have been a lot better and it wouldn’t feel like Toothless ditched Hiccup for romance.

When all of the dragons left, I felt that Toothless just said goodbye rather too easily. There should have been more resistance and even though I cried, I found it weird how Toothless and Hiccup were saying goodbye so fast.

I’ll say this right now: I wish the LightFury was evil. Yes, it’s cliche, but I wish she was. I swear she looked like she was actually working for the villain (I fucking forgot his name but I’ll call him Drago Bloodfist 2.0 because that’s basically who he is), and was just manipulating Toothless into leading her and the hunters to the Berkian dragons. And then when she has doubts, she joins the Berkians and fights the bad guy and joins their family. I know it’s cliche, but I find it a whole lot better than her just being the love interest.

Aside from her badass camouflage ability, there’s nothing interesting about her, and the camouflage ability is apparently just a normal Fury power, so she’s just bland. In the scenes where she and Toothless were together, I only smiled cause of Toothless.

I would say she’s the equivalent of Kairi in Kingdom Hearts, but that’s too cruel. The LightFury may be bland, but she’s not a plot device *cough cough* Kairi fucking sucks *cough*

But yeah Hiccup and Toothless didn’t feel as close as they did in the previous movies AND the TV shows (ARE WE JUST GONNA FORGET ABOUT DIRE STRAITS IN RACE TO THE EDGE!?), and I understand why the dragons had to leave, but I didn’t feel satisfied with them leaving.

Also someone give the name of the villain’s dragons. They were fucking cool and I want to know what they’re called. And I want the Hiccstrid kids’ names.

I loved every Hiccstrid moment and every scene just reminded us that Astrid wore the pants in the relationship.

Overall, I enjoyed Hidden World, but HTTYD 2 will stand as my favorite in the trilogy. It felt kinda rushed at some parts and when the final battle hit, I was like “Really? We’re here already?” Instead of a movie, it felt like I was watching an episode of Race to the Edge, and as much as I love that show, some episodes do feel super rushed. That’s the feeling I got with Hidden World. I loved the movie, and it was a great conclusion, but I can’t say I’m fully satisfied.

I don’t know how S3 went downhill so quick but it did.

Chameleon was great.

WereDad was great.

Chris Master was okay, but it wasn’t bad.

Backwarder was great.

Stormy Weather 2 was okay. I didn’t hate it, but it was okay.

But I only started liking Animaestro once Thomas akumatized himself.

I also call Animaestro the “Let’s shit on Thomas Astruc for 22 minutes” episode cause that’s basically all it was.

I have no idea why Kagami is being so antagonized right now. Like Thomas is actively trying to make me hate her, and I don’t wanna hate her. She was perfectly fucking chill with Marinette at the train station, but now she’s trying to keep Adrien away from Marinette? It’s like Kagami was thinking “If you don’t have the balls to confess, you might as well not be around him at all.”

I don’t know if I like that.

I’m always down for a Marinette and Chloe team up, but I didn’t want it like this. Not when they’re trying to fuck with someone who did nothing to them and who they barely know.

The first 11 minutes of the episode is more or less a one-sided three-way cat fight over one boy that I expected to see in season 1. I’m honestly dreading an episode that has Marinette, Chloe, Kagami, AND Lila because that’s gonna be an even worse cat fight and I just won’t enjoy it.

I think if Marinette actually fucking talked to Kagami, she would see her in a different light and not be so antagonistic towards her just because they like the same boy.

Speaking of Marinette, what the fuck? She was never my favorite character, but I’m honestly starting to like her less. She’s back to how she was in season 1 but worse. Aside from Chloe, I have never seen her try to fuck with some girl just because that girl likes Adrien.

You guys remember in Frozer where Marinette was okay with Adrien being with Kagami despite her being bummed out about it but it didn’t matter as long as he was happy? Apparently Thomas didn’t.

In Backwarder, Marinette dreaded Adrien and Kagami going to England together, but she took Kagami’s advice and attempted to confess. Granted, it backfired, but she still tried instead of getting jealous and trying to ruin Kagami’s life.

Yeah, she’s crazy over Adrien, but she toned it the fuck down in season 2 to the point where she could have actual conversations with him instead of stuttering when she’s two feet in front of him. You guys remember Gorizilla right? The movie theater scene was cute as fuck.

It just rubbed me all the wrong ways watching Marinette conspire with Chloe to get Kagami out of the picture. I get it. They’re still kids who have a lot to learn, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t comfortable to watch.

I was honestly surprised that Chloe didn’t realize that Marinette had a crush on Adrien. Kinda makes me wonder if she even loves Adrien.

But yeah the second half of this episode was better than the first. I did enjoy Marinette in a maid dress and bun, the cameo of the anime PV, and Kagami standing up to Chloe, but that was it. Season 3 is starting to feel like season 1 and I’m not sure how to feel about that. I’ll still watch Ladybug cause I want it to be good. I want it to have that season 2 level of goodness cause season 2 was awesome, but I don’t like where season 3 is going right now. Granted, the synopsis for the rest of the episodes sound pretty interesting, but I’m concerned with how they’re gonna be executed.

Can we get season 2 Marinette back? Or even Marinette from Chameleon?
