If you have any money to donate during this tough time, please considering donating to Marcus Bookstore which is a bookstore in Oakland, California that sells books by and for Black people. They are one of the businesses hardest hit by the pandemic as they are an independent and small business. I know everyone is having a rough time right now but if you could aper a few dollars it could really help out this business. They already met their original goal and stretched it to 200k to get ahead of an unforgiving and strict loan toward a mortgage on the bookstore property, build a robust online presence and expand their infrastructure, inventory, and staff to account for the evolution of the store. Once again, I highly recommend donating a few dollars if you have it because it would go right back into the community and allow for more Black authors to tell their story.
