totally was going to answer last night but alcohol happened and I just remembered this don't hate me

4 - Do they have any verbal tics? Do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly?

Verbal tic, sort of.  Whenever he gets anxious/nervous, he has a habit of rambling for a long time.  Eventually he catches himself, but something that could be said in like five words suddenly is five very long sentences.  It's like a stream of consciousness thing where he says whatever comes to mind.  No to the second question, he's pretty good at getting his thoughts across.

25 - Do they have any weird bedroom habits? Any unusual kinks?

I know bedroom habits is probably meant to be sexual, but if Seth has some problem or something is really bothering him, he randomly sleeps upside down so his head is at the foot of the bed.  As far as kinks go, he's pretty tame.  Like nothing would really be deemed unusual, just the ones that a lot of people are into.

8 - Are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts?

It's the same answer for the incarnations.  He's a pretty quick thinker.  Marcus is really good on his feet when push comes to shove, which is why he's pretty good at dueling.  Any time he goes into some explanation about something, he usually is just rolling with a thought.  Like the whole thing with Marcus 2.0 getting the Parkinnon baby and everything he says to Chase's dad wasn't really thought ahead of time, he just spits it out.

fostered/adoption, biological, artificial insemination, IVF, other? - Biological (aka Marcus knocked up Belle before her seventh year and she dropped out at Christmas because they got married and lol would be hard to hide the baby bump)

who is better at getting up early when baby cries? - Surprisingly Marcus.  He’s got really good “parent hearing”.

who hates changing nappies the most? - Marcus because there were too many “accidents”.

do they use dummies (pacifiers)? - I’m inclined to say no.  Not for any particular reason, they just do.

who does the voices when they read to their kid(s)? - Belle does.  Marcus likes hearing them.

who gives the sex talk? puberty talk? crushes talk? - Marcus does the talk with the boys, Belle does it with the girl.

how do they cope on their first kid’s first day of school? - They’d be worried for sure, but are also dealing with the twins so they’re probably distracted up until they realize oh, Jason will be done soon.

who is the ‘bad cop’ parent most often? - Marcus

how do they discipline their kids? - Most likely stern talks

who helps with homework most? - They do it equally.  Magic-wise Marcus is better for the practical stuff while Belle is better at theoretical.

who’s name does baby say first? - Mama

how long does baby sleep in the same room as them? - Not that long.  Like, long enough for them to be okay with moving the baby to their own room.

who is their babysitter of choice? - Belle’s brother since he’s the only one they have.

who sees baby’s first smile? - Marcus

do they volunteer to help on field trips? - Belle does.  Marcus may help organize, but he’s not going to go.

how do they cope with their kid’s first sleepover away? - Pretty well, knowing they can be there in a second if needed.

how do they cope with hosting their kid’s first sleepover? - They overprepare for it and have a lot of stuff planned that never actually happens.

do they like throwing kid birthday parties? - Yep!

who teaches the kid(s) to ride a bike? tie shoelaces? swim? - Belle has to teach swimming.  Marcus would have to be far away and not looking when it happens since he starts to panic as soon as the water gets above his waist.

what do they disagree on as parents? - Not a whole lot, I think.  Probably something like who each kid takes after more.

A new home

Marcus gets "custody" of the Parkinnon baby

Marcus took deep, even breaths as he walked out of his house and towards the edge of the property.  Technically it wasn’t his house.  Not yet, anyway.  His family owned the house next to the lake, so in a way it was his.  It was in his parent’s name, but Marcus was working on trying to get that fixed.  He couldn’t stand being at home anymore.  With the war still ongoing and his parents and brothers being firm supporters of the Death Eater side that was habitually killing people that Marcus knew, well, he got his ass out of there as fast as he could.  He came up with some bullshit story about how he wanted some space and thought it would do him some good to be out in nature.  Thankfully they bought it.

  The other added perk was that it allowed him a private space where he could grieve for all the loss he’d experienced in the past few months.  Most of the names were only known because of being in school together.  He was rather indifferent to those ones, only having a bit of reflection time out of respect.  But then there were the names that hit closer to home.  The first was Marlene.  Marcus didn’t know all the details about how she died; only that she was gone.  And apparently a few Death Eaters had to arrive in order to do it.  Her death was the first one to really hit home.  He and Marlene were close, him providing solace for her whenever she needed a reprieve from the marriage she’d been forced into.  He knew that the Parkinsons could be rough.  After all, he was Chase’s best friend.  He’d experienced the family and knew that they were a handful.  He was more than happy to allow Marlene to spend a few hours at his house.  When he heard that she was dead, more than a few things in his house were broken in a rage.  Followed quickly by a period of mourning that got superseded by even worse news.

  There was a part of him that knew the odds were not in Chase’s favor to live through the war.  The amount of battles and fighting going on meant that people that were directly involved in it stood little chance of making it through till the end.  But there was hope that Chase would be the exception.  He’d come out of it alive.  Or he’d come to his senses and leave.  There were rumors that people didn’t leave that easily and were either brought back or brought down.  But Marcus had it figured out.  His best friend could come live with him at the lake house.  The protection spells around the place had kept him safe and without unwanted visitors for a very long time.  They’d be okay.  But then Marcus found out about Chase’s death.  And for some reason, he wasn’t sad.  He was angry.  Angry at the war.  Angry at the fact that people had to keep dying.  Angry that his best friend had been taken away from him with just a flick of a wand.  But most of all, he was furious at Chase’s father.

  As soon as Marcus was free of the protective barriers he’d put in place, he turned quickly on his heel.  The familiar sensation that came from Apparating washed over his body.  The destination was clear in his mind.  Much clearer than anything had been in the past few weeks.  When his feet hit solid ground again, Marcus looked up at the Parkinson home.  What was once a place that he frequented during the summer to spend time with his friend had now lost all meaning with it.  He quickly walked up the drive, his mission set in his mind.  After a quick bound up the front steps, he pounded his fist against the front door.

  It came as no surprise that Giac opened the door.  “Marcus?  What are you doing here?  The funeral is family only.”

  “Where is he?”  Marcus pushed his way past Giac and into the foyer of the house, not even caring to be invited inside.

  “Who are you talking about?”  Giac followed after Marcus, leaving the door open.

  “Patrick.”  Marcus moved further into the house.  “I know he’s here.”

  “Why do you care where he is?”

  Marcus stopped and turned to face Giac.  “I’m taking him away from here.  For good.”

  “Excuse me?  You can’t just fucking storm in here and demand to take my grandson away from me.”

  “I’m not letting you corrupt someone else.”

  Giac took a step forward, and Marcus could see the anger growing behind the man’s eyes.  “What is that supposed to mean?”

  “You know damn well what it means.”  Marcus stood his ground, not feeling threatened in any way.  “If you’re going to stand there and try to convince me that you didn’t push Chase into this, you have another thing coming for you.  You pushed him into it.  Everyone knows it.  I’m not going to let you do something similar to Patrick.”

  Giac’s hands curled into fists, something that Marcus knew should be a bad sign, but he didn’t care.  “I will not allow you to speak in that tone of voice to me and spread such lies in my own house.”

  “Fine.  Then I’ll just take Patrick and go.”  Marcus started up the nearby staircase to the upstairs portion of the house.  The baby had to be up there.  If he was near where the two of them were, Marcus would have been able to hear him.  Therefore he had to be upstairs.

  “If you take another step upstairs, I won’t be responsible for what happens.”

  Marcus glanced back and saw that Giac had his wand out and to his side.  Marcus stopped and laughed.  “You think that’s going to scare me?  I’m twice the wizard you’ll ever be.  You know what?  Fuck the wands.  I’ll fight you barehanded.  Still whoop your ass.”  He noticed Giac’s hands tightening around his wand.  “Here’s the difference between you and me, Giac.  I have nothing to lose.  Everyone I love is already dead.  My body added to that pile isn’t going to make a difference.”

  The boy paused a moment before he turned and walked up the stairs.  He kept waiting to hear some curse being shouted or to feel it hit the back of his head.  But nothing came.  Once on the landing, it wasn’t difficult to locate the baby’s room.  Marcus walked inside and saw the baby sitting in the crib, looking up at the man who just entered the room.  A small smile appeared on his face when he recognized the person coming inside.  Marcus bent over the side and scooped up Patrick, taking the blanket inside with him, as well as the small stuffed toy.  It would have to do until Marcus figured something out.

  He walked back down the stairs to find Giac standing near the door, his arms crossed and a sour expression on his face.  Marcus stopped in front of him.  “If you want, you can send his stuff to my parents’ place.  I’ll get it all from there.”  He pushed his way past the older man and strode down the walkway.  Once he was outside the gates of the house, he clutched Patrick tightly to his body.  He’d never Apparated with a baby before, but figured it wouldn’t be harder than Side-Along.

  Once he landed and heard the waves of the lake, Marcus opened his eyes and checked on Patrick.  He seemed to be okay, nuzzled up against his chest.  Marcus smiled down at the baby and walked towards his house.  He felt the familiar sensation of the protective spells letting him back into the area.  Thankfully it appeared that it also allowed Patrick in despite him not doing anything to make it so.  “Welcome to your new home, Patrick.”

And hmm, I feel a little weird deciding that without Megs, but I think the middle name, at the very least, would have been Marcus (I know in an au version of the first board, that's actually the first name, so it could even be that, tbh). There aren't really any names that run in Chase's family, as far as I remember, so I really can see him being inclined to name him after Marcus (he says there's no way in Hell he'd name him after his father, anyway). Plus - Marlene and Marcus got on, too, right? So I think that still works.
