The Kitchen Sink

I’m getting back to reality in good old Kilburn and thought it was time to give dirtyoldbooks some love. Had an amazing time in Pondicherry one of my fave places in the world. Massive thanks to the fabulous folk at PondyPhoto for the invite to show there. The Kitchen Sink looked awesome and millions of very excited people came to see it. Thanks for all the love and support guys especially the wonderful, incredible Arun photographer and printer extraordinaire. And the biggest thanks to all the photographers who were kind enough to let me show their work in this small town in Tamil Nadu.

Antecedentes

Para esta serie decidí tomar como inspiración la película Las Elegidas de David Pablos y otras historias más a nivel mundial. Investigue a fotógrafos que retratan este tipo de acontecimiento; y los siguientes fueron los que más captaron mi atención.

Lewis Hine En 1908 crea una serie fotográfica titulada “Child labor”.

Mary Ellen Park En 1984 decide seguir a niños en día a día como vendedores, ladrones creando la serie “ Street of the lost”.

Marcus Bleasdale En 2002 viajó a Turcana para retratar los abusos que sufren los niños explotados por transnacionales que buscan enriquecer las empresas mayormente de joyería y fabricación de celulares.
