This is depressing. Kucinich is one of a handful of true, unapologetic, and fearless liberals in Congress. I hope that he finds a way to make the move to Washington state to run for a seat there.
Ohio's Republican majority redrew the State's districts. Democrats lost a seat in the House, and Kucinich was forced to fight another Democrat who held an advantage over him.
The face-off between the eight-term Kucinich and the 15-term Kaptur was prompted by the loss of two congressional seats in the Buckeye State due to its declining population. The newly-redrawn 9th district favored Kaptur's territory over Kucinich's, giving her an early edge in what turned out to be a bitter race between two formerly friendly colleagues.
Kaptur will now square off with Samuel Wurzelbacher (a.k.a. "Joe the Plumber"), who snagged the GOP nomination, in November's general election.
Joe the Plumber. Really? Did he win some kind of raffle to get the Republican nomination? Look, I like poking fun at the GOP, but this is embarrassing for them.
