thinking about themes of authority and power and abuse in aftg. the foxes are all distrustful of authority figures to the point that their staff is like two people because coach doesn't trust anybody else and neither do they. when Neil's dad's people come for him they're dressed as security guards and riding in police cars and paying off cops. Andrew killing Tilda because he can't trust cps will help them. when Neil is handcuffed and burned and bleeding and almost certainly going to die and the cop tells him not to take it personally he says something like "I have to, it's my life." aaron getting arrested for protecting his brother and neil picking fights with everyone because they're all so angry and just feel so helpless and that being a good example of the reason the foxes struggle so much as a team—they're all so angry (of course they are) and they can't trust anyone
