Maria Lore! (Note: Text wall)

Soooo I was thinking about a cool thing i thought a while back about Maria's eyes!

You see, Maria has a bit of Mantis Shrimp on her DNA, this causes Weird things to happen with her eyes cause...

In case you didn't know, Mantis Shrimps have 12-16 different photoreceptors (Cells that see light) while humans have 3.

Soooooooo yeah she can see some real cool stuff.

• Why this happens?

Most of the time her eyes react, not only for her environment, but also her emotions, specially during high stress since her body enters "Fight-or-Flight" response.

This Responses increase her survival chances, depending on the situation or need different "eye modes" are activated.

• Eye Modes

- Default

For this examples will put a Reference Model to compare the visions

So default is... well default, 3 photoreceptors and a slightly better than average vision, nothing too crazy.

- Ultraviolet / Bee

When this Vision is active, colors change, usually looking more saturated than usual, as well other details that are normally invisible become visible to Maria (Like marks of Flowers or patterns in the skin)

When active Maria has to be careful cause her eyes become a bit more sensitive to light, specially sunlight.

- Night

Usually this vision is active when she is starting to get scared, however she can activate it at will if she focuses enough.

Different to Night vision goggles, Which look green, her night vision is blue.

- "Hunter"

Now this is a new one! The "Hunter" Vision, while this one is kind of a thermal vision, it also has other characteristics, not only does the warmer parts look lighter but the organs and veins of beings become faintly visible as well.

This also applies to plants and even sounds (kinda like synesthesia)

This vision appears when Maria enters Fight-or-Flight mode, making her a perfect hunter or a perfect escapist.

Oh boy! This one was a long one!

So I have to confess that I got this idea while listening to "Vs. Susie" from Deltarune, getting the idea of Maria defending herself with her bare hands, "Hunter" eyes mode active, idk to me it sounded cool but maybe its cringe idk xd

Okay..... I confess my sins....

I had made an overwhelming amount of Peppiclone OCs...

Anyways here's one of them!!

Maria the 'Failed Peppiclone'

She is considered a 'failed clone' because she doesn't really reassemble Peppino, so she was quickly discarded after birth, she was one of the last clones to be made so she was still really young when the tower crumbled.

About 3 months later Fake Peppino Bruno found and adopted her (You know those "taming feral kitten videos"? well it went like that) and he did it without Peppino's knowledge, but he eventually warmed up to her in the end.

Eventually María became.... Maria, and everyone just accepted and they were happy of the fact that she was becoming her own person.

Her first ever friend was a someone of a similar height and thought process: Matteo, they are very good friends and see each other as cousins.

She is mostly non-verbal but she can talk, she acts like a 7-8 y/old

In the events of Spaghetti Family....

At this point of the timeline Maria is a teen, around her 16's

She and Matteo take care of their siblings More on them later ;)

She is pretty chill, but you mess with her family, you mess with her and she WILL kick you on the face.

So yeah that's Bruno's goth adoptive daughter, more of The Spaghetti Family later...

this was actually so adorable to draw, it's not exactly the first time I've drawn babees before! they're absolutely precious to draw and I always have fun makin the boopiest happiest lil babayyyss it honestly makes me feel like a big mama lmfao
